LaunchRock Wants to Give A Boost to Startups Launching at SXSW

The anticipation in the tech world is palpable, as SXSW Interactive kicks off at the end of the week. We expect to see lots of startups launch over the course of the event, and LaunchRock, the creator of viral launch pages for startups is putting the pieces in place to make its own, newly launched service even more useful.

We covered LaunchRock here last month, following the startup's creation over Philly Startup Weekend. Strategy Roundtable For Entrepreneurs: Spotlight On The Northwest

At this week's One Million by One Million roundtable, we put a special focus on entrepreneurs in the northwestern part of the United States, and we had three presenters, all from Washington.

Nitie is working with dentists to validate her assumptions about the service, and she is a member of the 1M/1M premium program. In the spirit of 1M/1M, I invited the audience to connect her with dentists in the United States who may be willing to speak with her and help her understand the specifics of what she needs to put together in her offering. And readers, I request you to do the same. Please feel free to e-mail Nitie with your suggestions through 1M/1M

To my surprise, VC' Bryce Roberts, a partner at O'Reilly Tech Ventures, was so concerned about the network that he deleted his AngelList account. In his post, Roberts says he was not turned off by the quality of startups, but by the investment philosophy pushed by the service. The predominate philosophy pushed by the service, he said, favors a light-touch investment style similar to throwing darts on a board, as opposed to a more concentrated approach.
