Posted: 12/9 | | The Best Date to Retire in 2011 | Many people are curious about the best day to retire in 2011. Well, the best day to retire in 2011 is the same as it was in 2010; that is December 31st. This is especially important for those who are planning on receiving a large annual leave payment, as the leave year ends on December 31, 2011 and anyone who retires after that date will lose any excess use-or-lose leave they have accrued. Posted: 12/9 | | Annual Pay Freeze for Congress? Done! | Many readers have been asking why members of Congress don't freeze their own annual raises since federal employees are facing a potential pay freeze. It may make some readers feel better to know that Congress has already frozen its pay for FY 2011. Posted: 12/9 | | Some Federal Employees Will Miss Out on a Proposed Tax Break | The new agreement on taxes, if it becomes law, would create a tax break for federal employees (and other Americans) who pay into Social Security. But what about those who are under the older CSRS system? These employees will lose the $400 credit and would not reap any benefit from the payroll tax cut. I am a Federal Employee at VA hospital and I have subjected to bullying, hostile work place, discrimination based on race and disability also retaliation for prior EEo activity. The powers that be have not stepped up to the plate to try to correct the situation and as a result I havew to see EAP often!!! My supervisor's supervisor protects her and all the way up the line. As a result of this I now have a NEW EEO complaint going forwqard. If you are being bullied then don't just accept it, stand up and fight for your rights by filing whatever is necessary to stop them up to a formal EEO complaint. Work place bullying will not stop if we don't fight to make it stop and get these bullies removed from government service.
